C. List Etiquette or also known as Netiquette
a. Allowed

» Topics
Yes you can bring your own LJS topics into the group. If a topic is not being dealt with in a mature fashion then The Night Council will declare it forbidden. Also, if you like you can become a topic chooser, just email Lee with three topics you would bring up in the list.

» Replies to topics
We want to know what you think no matter how weird others might think it is. When replying to the message remember to quote the original, but don't quote too much. Delete whatever is not really necessary.

» Off-Topic messages
Although this club was set up for the discussion of LJS, if you need info or just have to rant, then you can. But there is a limit to how many OT messages you can send on a day. The limit is four OT messages a day and you can't pile them up. (i.e. Send three on Wednesday and five on Thursday)

b. Not Allowed
» NO oneliners
» NO Personal Messages
» NO Sign-ins to list
» NO Attachments
» NO Self-Advertisement
» NO chain letters, quizzes/questionnaires
» NO cross-posts
» NO profanity
» NO flaming
» NO messages in capital letters
» NO Fonts and Stationary

Okay, here goes. If you send a chain letter, questionnaire, or quiz to the list you will be removed from the list for a week. If you do it again, you'll be removed permanently from the club. Yeah I bet your saying "Geez, she's really being harsh about it", well no I'm not being harsh I just making this club better so people who want to be here like it more and they stay.

If you are not sure of what you can send then please email Lee, and she'll help you out.

D. Spoilers
If your message contains information about a book (LJS or not in content), movie, television show, or anything that a member of the club might not have seen, please follow the guidelines below.

  • Put your subject in the subject line (i.e. The Forbidden Game Topic).
  • In the body of your email, put what the spoiler is for (i.e. Forbidden Game spoiler), then go down 10-15 lines, then you can start your message.

E. Signatures
The signature for Ona-Nyx is "Give Way to the Night". Please use it when you sign-off our messages to the list. There is also a signature for the members of The Night Council, and it is "(Queen or King) of the Night and anything they want to add".

F. Signature lines
You can put your favorite quotes, webpage URLs, or other clubs you are affiliated with, your Ona-Nyx sig and member name. But no matter what you put in your sig line, the length must not exceed 9 lines, and that's 9 lines in TOTAL. This does not mean number of quotes, URLs or whatever. Also, if your message is shorter than your sig, then please delete your sig line. The same rules apply for sig lines as they do for the list.

G. Names
You can choose whichever name you wish from LJS books as long as it's not taken. If you wish you can make up your own character name by using the last name of a LJS character, but you can't do anything like name your character, Damon Wolfe ( mixing a VD character with a DV character). You can however make up a name that has nothing to do with LJS as long as it's appropriate (nothing like, "Ivanna Humpalot" [Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me]).

H. Punishments
If you disobey a rule that is here in the FAQ, these are the consequences:

  • First Offence - You will be warned, personally, by a member of The Night Council, more than likely Lee or Poppy.
  • Second Offence - You will be warned on-list. A Council member will post to the list, describing what you did, where it is located, and tell everyone again, about the punishment system. Also you will be taken off the list for a week and if there is any event occurring during your suspension you will not be allowed to participate.
  • Third Offence - You will be kicked out of the club.

If what you did what not that bad you may be able to reapply in a month or so. And don't worry no one has ever been kicked out :D

3. The Night Council

Here are the members of The Night Council. If you have any problems please forward them towards to the person who would most likely help you solve your problem.

Lee Frost - Leader/Foundress, Page Maintainer, Member Welcomer, List Manager
Lee is the leader and foundress of Ona-Nyx - The Unity of Night. She is in no relation to Laurie Frost of Dark Visions, as she has stated so often. She is her own creation, and she likes it that way.
Poppy North - FAQist
Poppy has seen a lot she is in nearly every single club that there is out there, and in everyone she has made great contributions, and we hope that she does the same here.
Amber Redfern - Birthdays, List Manager
Amber was the one who compiled the unchosen names, The Lost Souls. She is also the person who will announce the monthly birthdays to the list.
Bonnie McCullough - Helper, Witch Page Creator, Graphics
Bonnie is the person who created the Witch species page. She is also a genreal club helper and works on graphics for projects.

If your problem does not seem to fall into a category then send it to The Night Council in general through the contact form.

4. Our Mission

Everyone here has their own mission in life, but when we come together our mission is the same, to rid the world of evil. It may seem impossible, for without evil there is no good, or really without evil there is no measure of what is good.

Okay to all you skeptics out there. We are not a cult, and we never want to be a cult. We are here to discuss the works of Lisa Jane Smith. We understand that her stories are fiction, and that they don't really exist.

5. Frost's Final Thought

Well thanks for reading through all of that. I know that it might seem like a lot but if this club didn't have any rules then there would be chaos. So if you have any questions or concerns please just forward them from the contact form.
